"...we challenge the premiers to step boldly outside the “child welfare/child protection” box and the same old way of thinking and doing things and to imagine instead a system that is based primarily on child well-being and nation rebuilding, one that protects all Aboriginal children that is based on the premise that all Indigenous children and families have the right to flourish, to enjoy equality with other Canadians and to be Aboriginal. It is their human right and their Indigenous right."
