"Our responsibility is far-reaching and sometimes overwhelming. We have to make sure that our programs reflect the values of our community. If we, as a community, don’t teach children about their language and their culture and traditions and share these teachings with their families, it could all be lost. We do this work because it is so important... we are responsible for the education and development of the citizens of our future—they will be the holders of our language, culture, and the traditional knowledge and teachings of our Elders." -participant
