N2  - The idea for this 18 month project, coordinated by the Health Commission of MAWIW Council Incorporated (Tobique Frist Nation, Big Cove First Nation and Burnt Church First Nation), emerged from the identification of a need by these three communities. In May 1995, a National Conference on Aboriginal Early Childhood Training Programs was held in Montreal and hosted by the Quebec Native Women's Association.  participants were asked to explore the criteria for principles and guidelines for First Nations Early Childhood Education Training Programs.  This project details the results of that study and the evaluation tools developed to assist communities in assessing program content and the learning environment
