In 2007, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) undertook to complete a series of background reports on lifelong learning for Inuit, to serve as the basis for discussion at the Inuit Education Summit. The purpose of the background papers was to provide a discussion on the barriers facing Inuit in lifelong learning and policy directions for overcoming these barriers. This paper examines the issues surrounding Inuit Early Childhood Education (ECE).
